VIVOS
Breath New Life

A Vivos trained dentist has completed over 400 hours of clinical and practice integration courses, encompassing both online and live learning components. Team training is additional and advanced training is ongoing. Continued education and training helps us look beyond teeth and gums. The mouth’s gateway is the start of the digestive tract whose goal is to nourish the body. It is the gateway for the air we breathe. We are passionate about helping patients of all ages improve their lives through Complete Health Dentistry and the role of dentistry is integral in the treatment of disordered breathing.
We utilize an unobtrusive ring for Home Sleep Study to begin a journey of discovery. SleepImage technology is used in VivoScore, a diagnostic tool using a single sensor ring recorder that patients wear overnight on their finger. SleepImage is FDA cleared for diagnosing Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) in adults and children. VivoScore has Bluetooth connectivity to upload data.
In the comfort of your own surroundings, several night’s studies are recorded. Journaling over these nights offers insights as a comprehensive view is gathered. After 3 nights’ of study, a Board Certified Sleep Physician reads and returns a report offering a formal diagnosis. This methodology offers results with accuracy, and is comparable to a standard lab polysomnography which has a patient wired up for a one night study, located in a strange environment.
After reviewing the results of the study, and dependent upon the diagnosis of OSA, the next step we offer is to pursue further records. Part of the gathered record is a CBCT, which is read by a licensed oral and maxillofacial radiologist who returns information by report. Through this further discovery, multidisciplinary referrals may be given to address associated findings. The patient will be given a thumb drive of their CBCT to share with specialists.
When a patient is a good candidate for success with the Vivos CARE oral appliance, an FDA 510(K) clearance treatment option for severe OSA in adults and moderate to severe in children, we can consider corrective treatment.
