Last month our Team had the pleasure of featuring local artist Tim McFarlane for our Patient Spotlight. Our latest “spotlight” is shining on Donna Rae Lee. Donna Rae performs locally with Blue Flame 6—a rock and roll band covering all the classics. We love the energy she brings when she visits the office and especially when she is jammin’ on stage. Here is her story.
My name is Donna Rae Lee and I have been a patient of Dr. Lantzy’s and his fabulous team for 25 years and have lived in Newtown for 29 years. Jenn asked me to be one of their spotlight patients and I am so honored to have been chosen. So, my story goes like this…I am currently in an amazing band called Blue Flame 6 and we play rock and roll! Woo Hoo! Ever since I was a kid I always loved singing and music. My cousins and I used to put on little shows for our parents and of course, we were always a hit with them! Fast forward to teen years and I loved everything about music and bands in the 1970’s. I took voice lessons in my late teens and hoped to one day be in band. Then life took me on a different and amazing path and I moved to NY with my best friend since we were 7, (still friends today) in the early 1980’s for 10 years. I moved back to the Bucks County area in the early 1990’s and opened an antique shop in 1997, The Brownsville Antique Center, with my Mom and it is still in operation today, under new management of another dear friend of mine. I married my high school gym teacher (the famous Coach Lee) and we have a fabulous family. I also flipped houses with my Dad for about 15 years and now…I’m in the band! We are a group of 6 people…all of a certain age that love to play music and goof around and have fun. I came into the band through another life-long friend that knew our bass player and he told her he and his buddies were looking for a female singer to join their band. My friend told him about me and that I like to sing so I auditioned (at 61) and bam! I got the job! I was so jazzed! We rehearsed together for about a year and then started playing at different bars in the area. We play at the Sycamore Grill, The Tavern at Penn’s Park and the Morrisville Tavern and hope to add more gigs for 2025. And here’s the kicker…Dr. Lantzy and Marg came to one our shows at the Sycamore! My bandmate was like…”Your dentist is here? Who does that?” They do…they love their patients and treat them as friends. So, I guess to wrap it up, and as I write this, it really makes me feel the love of friends and family and how those relationships guide you through life. It makes me realize how lucky I am to have these relationships. And Dr. Lantzy and Marg came to our show! I still can’t get over it! Groovy Cool Bossy Bad Peace and Love! Thanks Jenn, for choosing me.
