Congratulations! You just found out that you are expecting a baby! You have so much to look forward to!

Don’t forget the dental health of you and your unborn baby!

WHAT?

Pregnancy is the period from conception (when a woman’s egg is fertilized) to birth.
Pregnancy usually lasts 40 weeks, beginning the first day of the woman’s last menstrual period. It’s divided into three trimesters, each lasting three months.
There is a link between uncontrolled periodontal disease and pregnancy conditions such as premature labor and preeclampsia (rise in blood pressure). Studies have also shown that bacteria responsible for tooth decay are passed from mother to child in utero…so the more frequently you give into a craving for a sugary snack, the greater chance of developing tooth decay.
