What Vivos Training Means
A Vivos trained dentist has completed over 400 hours of clinical and practice integration courses, encompassing both online and live learning components. Team training is additional, and advanced training is ongoing. Continued education and training helps us look beyond teeth and gums. The Discovery Process
We use an unobtrusive ring for an At-Home Sleep Study to begin a journey of discovery. After three nights of study, a Board Certified Sleep Physician reads the results and returns a formal diagnosis. After reviewing the study, and dependent upon the diagnosis of OSA, the next step is further records — including a CBCT (3D scan) read by a licensed Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist. Through this further discovery, multidisciplinary referrals may be given to address associated findings.
The Vivos CARE Oral Appliance
When a patient is a good candidate for success with the Vivos CARE Oral Appliance, we can consider corrective treatment. The CARE appliance is an FDA 510(k) cleared treatment option for severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea in adults and moderate-to-severe in children. The FDA granted 510(k) clearance to Vivos Therapeutics for the Vivos CARE Oral Appliance on November 29, 2023. FDA clearance for the children's appliance followed in September 2024. The Vivos CARE Oral Appliance is an alternative to continuous positive airway pressure devices (CPAP) and neurostimulation implants. The FDA approval is based on clinical trial data.
When Vivos Isn't the Right Fit
Not every patient is a Vivos candidate. As needed, alternative dental appliances are explored. We also offer appliances to manage OSA — some for use with PAP, and some in place of a CPAP when deemed medically necessary and intolerance to CPAP is involved.
